My wife I want to travel home to the United states but STA travel doesn’t sell one ways from outside the states into the states. Is it possible for me to buy a round trip and not board in the states but still board the returning flight for the sake of getting a ticket home for cheaper.

It’s true.STA can’t sell tickets that originate outside of the US and then go back there, however, you just said “home” to the United States… so you did not… originate your travel outside the United States. If you still have the flight information you left the United States with, an agent at an office can help you get a good priced ticket back to the states depending on where you will be traveling from and when.
