Hi Rushx050-If your from the US you won’t need a visa. If your passport is from anywhere else, just double check with the UK embassy. London is great, but if you have time check out Strafford upon Avon, Bath and Stonehenge. Have a fantastic trip to one of my favorite cities!

I am going to London in a few days too!!! to catch the new year countdown… I got a visa because I am studying abroad there and want to work there part time to earn cash and experience the culture..

since you are only going there for 10 days.. you would be fine with an US passport… gl.. and have fun..

Hi
Im currently studying in london on a student visa. and the first time i came to london with out one, i was denied entrance, held overnight, and sent back to the states!

since you are only visiting for ten days, you shouldnt need a visa – one will be stamped in your passport at the airport. you DO have to convince the guy at the gate that you’re legit however. and if you’re a young american travelling on your own, they might think you plan on staying illegally (which so many people do).

take a look at the uk website: http://www.britainusa.com/visas/. Make sure you can prove you will be leaving in ten days (return ticket will do), that you have enough dough for the trip (bank statement with some money in it) etc. more people get rejected entrance based on subjective decisions than you’d think. so just be prepared with some basic paperwork. and whatever you do, DO NOT bring a resume with you.
