Question

on 2/23/08, keesh asked about Italy:

I’m planning a trip through parts of southern asia and then to italy. I’m certain I’ll have about $3000 saved for traveling, and will be spending 3 1/2 weeks and asia and then flying to italy. With the current exchange rate, and with staying at hostels and eating cheaply, does anyone know about how long the money will last in Europe? I do want to travel around Italy, so I’m sure there will be some rail expenses involved too. Any advice?

I would budget for spending at least $100 dollars a day while in Italy. With food, hostel room cost, transportation, and touring/entertainment (this is the most expensive), it can get pricey! I would consider how long you will be staying in Italy, what the cost of your hostel is, and just how much traveling/touring within Italy you want to do. Then work out a daily budget for yourself (including Asia) before you leave, and stick to it!
