Question

on 3/14/08, anomie22 asked about Ireland:

Okay…my impending Irish escapes have been extended to include Dublin, Cork, Galway and Derry.

Having never been to ANY of these places I’m in dire need of suggestions. We’re gonna hostel it and have a car, so I would greatly appreciate some words of wisdom from any and all.

Where to go, what to do, what NOT to do etc.

Many MANY thanks in advance :)

Hey there! I actually traveled through Ireland this past fall and hit up both Dublin and Galway. They are fantastic cities and you’re going to have a blast! Hostel wise I recommend the Kinlay House and Barnacles hostels in Dublin. I stayed at both and it was a great time. Barnacles is located right in Temple Bar so it’s a prime bar hopping spot and it was really nice and clean inside. Kinlay is located right next door the Christchurch cathedral and is halfway between the Guiness Storehouse and Trinity College. (both places I recommend checking out)

In Galway I recommend the Barnacles Quay House. This one has a great location right in town in the midst of all the shops and bars. This is a great college/sea town and just hanging out with the locals here is really cool.

If you want help booking any of these hostels I am a STA Travel Advisor so you can reach me at neu@statravel.com. I hope you have a fabulous trip!!!!
