Is anyone going to Octoberfest? Do you have any advice for some last minute planners?
Chopkin, are you going to Octoberfest? We have this really cool thing with Topdeck where you pay for your accommodation (a bed in a dorm at the A&O hostel) and three nights’ stay for I think $389. You can also do a camping one for less—the camping in Europe is a lot nicer than in the USA, and there is a free shuttle to the beer tents. It’s cool because a Topdeck rep will meet you on the first day, tell you how to get around and so on, and then you are all set. Accommodation in Munich is much more expensive during Oktoberfest than that package so it’s a great deal. There are a few spots left for the camping and hostel – give me a call and we can book it!

I agree with Franny. I went to Oktoberfest spontaneously when I was living in England. We could not find anywhere to sleep and not one of us spoke german. I was incredibly lucky that my older brothers friend was actually staying there on business. We all crammed into his tiny B&B room and slept on a cold hardwood floor head to toe with each other (there were 3 of us on the floor!). The maid came in to clean the next morning and threw us out. It took us about 4 hours to find another place to stay. We ended up staying 40 minutes outside the fairgrounds by train, and we had to spend 289 Euros for 2 nights! I still had a great time, but why give yourself the headache?
You should totally call Franny and book the group. They guarentee you a bed in the city of Munich!
