Although Camden Town in London may be more touristy than Leicester Square, it can be a fun place. Take these British Rockabilly/Punk guys just rocking out on the street corner! Much cooler than those guys who paint themselves silver and pretend to be robots.
DO NOT set off the fire alarm at restaurants in Dublin for 2 reasons: the fire alarm goes off OUTSIDE the restaurant, not inside, and only the “fire brigade” can turn it off, meaning they have to come even if there has been no fire.
We stayed with friends (Bono is their neighbor) for one night in Killiney, a 30 min train ride outside of Dublin. Gorgeous there! The beach was beautiful, yet VERY cold.
The Grand Place (Brussels) is gorgeous at dusk and night. The church puts on a light show @ 10pm with music. Definately not one to miss.
My sister lives 10 min. outside Amsterdam, and although Amsterdam is great, you have to get out of the city! All the small towns are so beautiful with fairy tale cottage houses. We went walking through the forest behind her house, only to discover this field of wild Highland Bulls.
This guy was great! I saw him 3 years ago in Amsterdam in the Leidsplein (spelling?) on a Friday night.
For another side of the Netherlands, head to Gouda (where the cheese is made, but pronounced “how-dah”) to the cheese market. It’s the old Holland that you don’t get in Amsterdam.
the French Riviera is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been.
Millions of jellyfish floated through the Mediterranean while we were there, making the water not OK to swim in.
