Dusk on the Twelve Apostles

This picture was taken at sunset on the Great Ocean Road – Victoria, Australia. We drank a bottle of wine, watched the sunset and saw the Fairy Penguins come in from their day at sea.

Migrant Worker Camp

We went to Vicente Guerrero, Mexico – while there we stayed at an orphanage and played with the kids. The orphanage was also connected with helping children who live at a migrant worker camp in town.

This picture was taken while we were playing with the kids at the migrant worker camp. Their parents were in the fields and leave them to fend for themselves during the day. They kept climbing all over us begging for us to give them piggy back rides. One little girl gets discouraged at the competition and starts walking away with her string – the string was her toy that she wouldn’t put down. You can see the shacks in the background – it was about the length of a football field – and several hundred people live in there together – with a big hole off to the side for everyone to go to the bathroom in.

This picture was taken while we were playing with the kids at the migrant worker camp. They were crowding around in curiosity to see what my camera was – they were later excitd to see themselves on the automatic playback.

Mexican

We were in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico and were looking for dinner. We found a tin hut on the side of the dirt road which happened to be a restaurant.

This man was the chef… while he was cooking our food, he would randomly hit the tin hut on the walls with his butcher knife because he liked to see us jump and laugh. He was one of the happiest people I have ever met.

Kangaroos!

One of the things I wanted to do in Australia was pet a kangaroo… so here I am sneaking up behind it so it wouldn’t scare away… instead I look like I’m trying to scare the poor thing. (I was successful… by the end of the day I got enough courage to actually touch the roo)
