Dad took me to Germany for my 21st Birthday. Food, beer, trains, and kitchy pictures abound.
THe entrance to the Berlin theatre; perfect place for a musical with dancing vampires….
I got this yummy raw hamburger meat on German bread in Frankfurt. It’s one of my Dad’s favorite snacks, so I had to eat it quick before he stole it.
No I’m really not, I can’t even speak German! but I DO like to dress up, and so my Dad bought me a Dirndle. I think thats how ya spell it anyway….. Hofbrashaus!!!!!
The rides at Oktoberfest are great, although I’m glad I didn’t drink anything ‘till after I was done with the spinning rides.
I love the Dom. I can’t get enough of it and could stare at it for hours on end. So my dad got a hotel room not 50 feet away with a balcony so I could look at it all night long. I think I might very well want to be buried there, but then I would have to be a Pope…. Maybe my family can just sneak my ashes inside, then I could haunt it!
At my Aunt Ursula’s apartment in Munich. Frushtuch, I think it’s spelled, is really the most important meal, and usually includes bread, butter, cold cuts, and some juice.
They built these spires so people would look to heaven and think of God. Magnificent!
Rococo Churches are one of my Dad’s favorite types. They are intricately and lavishly decorated. A feast for the senses!
I loved the Dom hotel in Koln. Keith Bat and I could people watch from the balcony, and late at night we could sit and ghost watch… but we didn’t ever see any… not even a strange light in a window or anything… maybe next time!
It’s the Koln Dom again, I have a million pics of this place, and yet I still feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.
I don’t really drink, I’m a real lightweight! However this lovely painted facade deserved a second, third look; and a picture!
At first I was disappointed that there were no vikings or hammers or Thor in my Hotel, then I was appeased by this lovely facade, cobblestone streets, 600 year old wooden supports, and Pom Frites smothered in Mayo!
