While on a 10 day camping adventure through the rugged Western Australian outback last October, our bus was forced to come to a screeching halt due to a flat tire. With the reflection of the faces peering out of the bus and dusk creeping into the sky, I knew it would make for an awesome shot.
Driving through the lush green filled hillsides of New Zealand’s North Island, my travel partner and I spotted this abandoned truck nestled in a “No Trespassing” zone. Going along with New Zealand’s “risk-taking” and “adventure-like” ways, we decided to break the rules, trespass, and get a picture. The shot not only shows New Zealand’s stunning and untouched beauty, but the truck exhibits the simple, laid back and off the beaten path ways of the locals. When I posted this online, my friends back home were definitely Green With Envy!
While trekking on an elephant through the jungles of Thailand, the particular creature we were riding decided to move abruptly, throwing me off balance. What could have been a serious accident with me sliding off ended up in simply a good story and Kodak moment. Good thing I went with the buddy system and rode with a partner!
While snorkeling around Malamala Island in Fiji one of our guides discovered this poor octopus whose life had recently ended. After touching the slimy and smooth creature I wanted more of it! And what better way than draping it around my head as a wig. It started a trend as others wanted the same hair piece and picture too…even the Fiji locals!
