These are my friends Ulrike and Roman devouring a giant wurst at the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) in Berlin. Imagine it – a crisp cool night leading up to Christmas, we are stuffed full of roasted nuts, chocolate covered fruit, and marzipan. I am juggling a ceramic mug of Gluhwein (sweet, spiced wine) whilst photographing my friends keeping warm on either side of a German sausage.
It’s Paris on December 17th, 2005. It’s freeeeezing outside, and I’ve found refuge in the wonderful Musee D’Orsay. For anyone unfamiliar, it’s a converted train station; standing where these Japanese girls are in the photo, you are privileged with a fantastic view of the city.
The most beautiful bridge in Paris is the Pont Alexandre III – it is ornately decorated and boasts many fine statues. I couldn’t resist touching this cherub’s chin for good luck.
I hadn’t realised before visiting Holland that Dutch men were so tall and gorgeous. It was paradise!
I was in a club with some friends in Utrecht when we spotted this guy at the other end of the bar. Before he knew what was happening, I grabbed him and got myself one fine picture. Too bad there was no accompanying phone number ;)
It happened by accident, but my British traveling buddy Rosa managed to emulate every Parisian stereotype in this photo. We were in a terribly smoky bar, so her way of tolerating was to bum a ciggy from the lads at another table. With the aptly aligned beret, she looks the part.
