The great chairman

This photo was taken in Tienamen Square. There are a lot of guards standing around supervising in the Square to make sure any activity that may have any possibility of being illicit is stopped immediately. The person above Chairman Mao’s portrait is a government official as tourists are not allowed that near the painting.

Wonders beyond

This photo is taken in the Forbidden City in the Imperial Palace in Beijing. The Emperor was once locked within these doors for his “protection”. The imperial family did not want the public to know what the Emperor looked like in case there were any assasination attempts. The Emperor could only secretly peer out at the world beyond.

Stone dragon

The Great Wall is one of the few things on earth that can be seen on the moon. Its twists and turns hang on the mountains of China like a long stone dragon. This is the Sumatai section of the Great Wall of China. Of the many countries I’ve visited, the Great Wall is by far the most breathtaking thing I have seen in my life.

Chinese Venice

This is a row of boats on Donhu East Lake in the city of Shaoxing, China. The canals in the lake have amazing rock formations with Chinese poetry carved into giant stones. These canals and boats reminded me a lot of the canals in Venice.

Sunset at San Simeon Pier

Of all of the countries I have visited and all of the sunsets I have seen, the most beautiful by far was in our own country, the United States. This photo is of the sunset over San Simeon Pier on Highway 1 in California. I took it on my annual girl trip where my friend and I drove down Highway 1 to visit Hearst Castle.
