The world is beautiful!

Tikal

After several days of travel, my best friend Crystal and I made it to the lush jungle ruins of Tikal. The monkeys’ screams haunted our every footstep as we made our way through the sacrificing grounds to which the Mayans ruled. It was an amazing site to see the structural phenomenom that these people were able to construct. The history behind it was bone chilling, but had a magical essence. Amazing and well worth the long trek.

Riding to the Copan Ruins

Just a few hours past the Honduras / Guatemalian boarder is a town called Copan Ruins. Copan Ruins is home to some more beautiful artifacts left by the Mayans. Here Crystal and head headed on horseback throught the farm lands to the Mayan sacrificing grounds. Here our guide showed us where and how the Mayans sacrificed thier new borns. It was so detailed. It even had a troft in the rock for the blood to pour down to. The Mayans are facinating people who believed in sacrifice to their Gods. It is amazing what people will do to make their higher power happy.

The Mother Crater

This is my family on the Mother Crater, Haleokala. This is the highest point and center of the beautiful island of Maui. It is said that if you take any part of the crater home with you that you will have bad luck! I believe in superstitions and always make sure that I take no part of the Mother home with me. All I take is her firey energy and found memories of her moon like surface. Such an amazing sight in such a tropical world! Aloha!
