I knew her only as the Walleye Queen in the beginning of high school. Our small town is the “Walleye Capital of the World”, and therefore, we have both a Walleye Festival and a Walleye Drop on New Year’s Eve. We became friends through some mutual acquaintances and very quickly fell in love, so to say! We travel so well together because we compliment each other’s quirks and shortcomings. For example, I love to plan and she loves to sleep (anywhere and everywhere, I have pictures!), so when we were in Central Europe this summer, she would sleep on the train, at the bus stop, in the park, ect. and I would sit, somewhat jealous of her cat-like abilities to nap, and plan our next city. She’s spontaneous and relaxed, which works well when we get to live out the plan I made while she was asleep! Not only is she my favorite travelmate, she’s also my roommate, schoolmate and best friend… and we’re going to see the world together for the rest of our lives!
