my photos
This is a picture of Sevilla’s Alcazar, an impresive Moorish palace dating back to the 11th century. Lots of beautiful mosaic tile-work is astonishingly well-preserved. You can spend hours just wandering from room to room, but don’t miss the beautifully manicured gardens in the back.
This photo was taken from a lookout point high above the city of Split, Croatia. It’s a bit of a hike, but the amazing view makes it all worth it. Plus there’s a hip bar at the top where you’ll find lots of locals reading, chatting, or just taking in the view.
This guy was apparently the first guy to translate the Catholic mass into Croatian, but I just thought he looked cool! His foot is very shiny from years of tourists rubbing it for good luck. He stands just behind the vast, impressive Roman-era Diocletian’s palace, which has now become Split’s old-town. You can lose yourself wandering through the narrow winding alleys and passageways of the palace, which now houses trendy bars, restaurants, hostels, and apartments. I wonder what he’s pointing at?
This picture was taken from inside a suite at Jake’s Hotel in Treasure Beach, Jamaica. It’s an amazing place to stay. Vibrantly-colored villas are lined up along the beach, each one with a fabulous view of the Carribbean, which can be enjoyed from either the first-floor patio, or the canopied lounge area on the roof.
Negril really is a beautiful place, and its 7-mile white-sand beach with turquoise-blue water is just one of my favorite things about it. Add to it the warmness of the people, the addictive live music scene, jerk chicken, and rum in a coconut, and you have the makings of a fabulous beach vacation.
This photo was taken on a particularly stormy day in Jamaica. It’s on an island off the coast of Kingston bay. It’s perfect for a day trip from Kingston, where you can also take a tour of Bob Marley’s house, visit the nearby Appleton Rum distillery, or go white-water rafting!
This picture was taken while overlooking the cliffs at the end of 7-mile beach at Rick’s Cafe. Don’t miss this place when you go to Jamaica – it’s my favorite bar in the world. You can choose to either kick back with a rum punch and let the sunset and the live reggae soak in, or you can walk to the end of the bar and jump from the cliffs into the sea below!
Costa Rica has so much to see and do, but Tabacon hot springs is definitely one of the must -see attractions. The natural springs are a by-product of the nearby impressive Arenal Volcano, and are perfect for soaking your muscles after a long day of jungle horse-back riding or ziplining!
Montezuma is a cool little beach town on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. When you get tired of chilling on the beach or hanging out in town, you can hop a horse and ride along the beach to this spectacular waterfall.
This photo was taken from high above the fortress wall that surrounds the medieval city of Dubrovnik on the southern end of Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk the circumference of the wall, but it’s totally worth it for the views you can get of the city and the Adriatic sea.
