Being passionate about traveling and seeing the world with my own eyes, I truly believe denying oneself the opportunity to experience the world through all senses is denying yourself to live fully. The only thing that could enhance any mind opening journey is to be able to share the experience with a close friend and fellow traveler. It’s funny how life brings unexpected surprises and long lasting friendships. Our story actually began when we met playing an online video game, (counter-strike). Soon after, we went on a snowboarding trip together along with other gamers that began many long-lasting friendships even though we all live in different states and were meeting for the first time. Since then, we have been on several trips together in the states and we went to Taiwan last winter break for 3 weeks. It is hard enough to get a close friend from home to travel with me, let alone someone who lives in another state and have only met a couple times. This was an amazing experience and life changing trip that allowed us to build a strong friendship and grow as people. We even tried snake blood and snake soup together in a foreign country, which showed his willingness to try new things. I think you learn the most about someone when you travel with them, you have the opportunity to live with them, eat with them, do everything together, really getting to know that person. Andrew is one of the most open minded people I know, and this opportunity to travel with him again would be perfect! Travel is definitely one of our common passions and ambitions as we talk about it constantly. In fact, we are still boggled by the fact that there are people that don’t want to see the world, that are comfortable in their little place, and have no interest in what adventures lie beyond home. For us, it is not all about partying, but the lifestyle, cultures, languages and people that we are able to embrace and learn from, which is why Andy and I are so close. We definitely plan on taking more trips, whether it is nationally or internationally and this opportunity would just be another journey and story we can share with other friends, in hopes of opening their minds a little to what the world has to offer.
