My friend Brain and I headed out to the Grand Canyon for a quick 3 day trip to hike to the Colorado River and back in one day- we conquered the challenge!
About halfway down into the Canyon I stopped to take a breath and enjoy the view around me.
This is the beautiful Colorado River, we made it to the bottom! This shows a picture of the Bridge to Phantom Ranch in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
We woke up at 5:30 am to get ready and have an early start on the hike. We got to view the sun make its way into the canyon and how it began to fill every crevice with color!
This is a view of the Canyon when we were almost to the top. We ended up hiking 20 miles in 8 hours with a total change in elevation of 4000 feet each way!!!!
Indian Gardens is about halfway down on the Bright Angel path in the Grand Canyon, it is incredible how much the temperature changes as you decend into the canyon!
Hiking the Bright Angel path is very interesting as you sometimes have to hike through the rock on the path.
Some people take mules down the path on a guided tour into Indian Gardens. Not for me, I needed to hike it on my own!
As we turned a corner the canyon opened up and we saw just how far the path was going to taken. The sunshine poured in and glimmered throughout the canyon.
