My photo album
Caitlin and I met in 2003 while studying photography in the U.K. We got to know each other because we were the babies of the group. I didn’t know then I had found an adventure soulmate. It wasn’t until we got back to university and we happened to have an Econ class together that the bond developed. I tagged along on a trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes one weekend in October. The boys we were with went down a dune that had been clearly marked as forbidden to go down. Caitlin and I weren’t going to be left at the top while they had fun by the water. So, we ran down the sand dune after them. Getting down was easy getting back up was nearly impossible. Caitlin and I struggled counting off ten measly steps at a time. Crashing and crawling at the sand hardly making a dent. When we eventually reached the top a bond had been formed between us. A “I can do anything, go anywhere, live life to the fulliest” bond. It has led us on a spur of the moment trip to Pittsburgh, Chicago with my Mom, Honduras building homes, and even Kyrgyzstan. The picture of us is of us in Kyrgyzstan wearing Kalpacks(traditional hats for Kyrgyz men) and looking at an SI swimsuit edition. This picture is silly, weird, excotic and unpredictable. Like Caitlin and I’s friendship and like my life since we became friends.
