Here are a few photo’s of the weird and wonderful Singapore/Thailand trip Brian and I went on in December ’07
A must have cocktail in Singapore at Raffle’s hotel. It is $20AUD but on a hot day in Singapore it is just what you need.
It is the largest fountain in the world and quite spectacular at night. If you put your hand in the fountain and walk around it four times you will become fortunate and wealthy in the future… let’s hope it comes true!
This is a must do in Singapore. I have been twice now I loved it so much! The zoo looks like an open plane zoo and you are walking through the jungle. The breakfast with the orangutans is also heaps of fun.
Brian at the Tiger Beer Brewery. It is a 4D experience involving a tour through the Brewery, 4D explanation of how the beer is made and a gift at the end. The entire building turns into 7 or 8 nightclubs all with different themes and music styles.
This was a theme park in Phuket that also had a HUGE buffet dinner and a traditional Thai stage show. It was about $60AUD for all of that and definitely worth it. It was just like the movie ‘The King and I’.
I dont know how many other people can say they have ridden a water buffalo, but I had a go!
Elephants doing tricks and showing off. I even got a massage from one! I’ll try get the video to work…
This was the first monkey show we went to. We also went to the monkey school on Koh Samui.
The Thais have a dish called ‘Bird Spit Soup’. These are the birds nests they get their ingredients from… I wasn’t game enough to try it.
The bars on Phi Phi allow you to buy what is called a ‘bucket’ which is filled with about 3litres terrible cheap alcohol for about $10AUD for 2!!!
Feeding turtles at the Samui Island Aquarium and Tiger Show. This place was heaps of fun.
This tiger wasn’t very happy. I am glad I got this photo but it was VERY scary!! This was also at the Samui Island Aquarium and Tiger Show
Most of the Monkey Shows in Thailand get their trained monkeys from the Samui Monkey School.
We went over the Thai rain forest canopy on a cable (aka flying fox is what we call it in Oz). This is a waterfall on the way up to the top.
