Viewing Album Singapore and Thailand

35 photos

Here are a few photo’s of the weird and wonderful Singapore/Thailand trip Brian and I went on in December ’07

Merlion Sentosa Island

Merlion on Sentosa Island. It’s worth a trip for the day, it’s very quirky.

Singapore Sling

A must have cocktail in Singapore at Raffle’s hotel. It is $20AUD but on a hot day in Singapore it is just what you need.

Fountain of Wealth

It is the largest fountain in the world and quite spectacular at night. If you put your hand in the fountain and walk around it four times you will become fortunate and wealthy in the future… let’s hope it comes true!

Breakfast at Singapore Zoo

This is a must do in Singapore. I have been twice now I loved it so much! The zoo looks like an open plane zoo and you are walking through the jungle. The breakfast with the orangutans is also heaps of fun.

Photo with the orangutans

You even get a photo opportunity with the orangutans after breakfast.

Tiger Beer Brewery

Brian at the Tiger Beer Brewery. It is a 4D experience involving a tour through the Brewery, 4D explanation of how the beer is made and a gift at the end. The entire building turns into 7 or 8 nightclubs all with different themes and music styles.

Phuket FantaSea

This was a theme park in Phuket that also had a HUGE buffet dinner and a traditional Thai stage show. It was about $60AUD for all of that and definitely worth it. It was just like the movie ‘The King and I’.

Phuket FantaSea

This is the hall where the buffet was in.

Phuket Safari

A safari we went on in Phuket that included about 9 different activities.

Riding a Water Buffalo

I dont know how many other people can say they have ridden a water buffalo, but I had a go!

Elephant Show

Elephants doing tricks and showing off. I even got a massage from one! I’ll try get the video to work…

Monkey Show

This was the first monkey show we went to. We also went to the monkey school on Koh Samui.

Phi Phi Island

On the boat to Phi Phi Island

Traditional Thai boats…

Bird Spit Soup

The Thais have a dish called ‘Bird Spit Soup’. These are the birds nests they get their ingredients from… I wasn’t game enough to try it.

Night out on Phi Phi

At a reggae bar on Phi Phi

Buckets

The bars on Phi Phi allow you to buy what is called a ‘bucket’ which is filled with about 3litres terrible cheap alcohol for about $10AUD for 2!!!

More Buckets

More buckets… be warned dont drink them too quickly!!!

The Result of Buckets

Or this will happen!!!

'The Beach'

This is the lagoon where the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed.

Samui Island Sunrise

The first morning on Samui

Feeding Turtles

Feeding turtles at the Samui Island Aquarium and Tiger Show. This place was heaps of fun.

Tiger Photo

This tiger wasn’t very happy. I am glad I got this photo but it was VERY scary!! This was also at the Samui Island Aquarium and Tiger Show

Tiger Show

A cheetah jumping through hoops of fire at the show.

Moi Thai Boxing

Thai boxing is brutal but lots of fun to watch with the locals.

Monkey School

Most of the Monkey Shows in Thailand get their trained monkeys from the Samui Monkey School.

Canopy Cable

We went over the Thai rain forest canopy on a cable (aka flying fox is what we call it in Oz). This is a waterfall on the way up to the top.

It was a dodge cable but it was heaps of fun!!

Our fireworks we let off on our last night!
