Pictures from our cross country trips…
This waterfall is in Grand Portage state park, which hugs the Canadian border.
On the Minnesota/Canadian border- just west of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.
A close up shot- if you visit in the wintertime, it is free to get the close up view. In summer, you have to pay for this sight, but it is free to view the lighthouse from below.
Part of Minnesota’s winter carnival – you can see the artists completing their finishing touches!
We passed through during our Utah parks tour. It really is straight out of the movies.
We just happen to be in my favorite Grand Canyon shot- although this is in northern Arizona, it is very close to the Utah’s many national parks- don’t miss the Grand Canyon, but be sure to head to Arches and Canyonlands (at the very least) too!!
This was part of our Utah National Park tour- we dipped into California to see Death Valley and the Joshua trees. They make a fantastic silhouette, but the town right outside of the national park isn’t somewhere I’d want to hang around in late at night- be sure your gas tank is full before going to the park!!
Part of our Utah national parks tour- we swung through California’s Joshua Tree NP and Death Valley, which has very pleasant weather in early February.
In Arches National Park, one of the many beautiful NP in southern Utah.
YOU MUST HIKE TO THE TOP!!! It is hard work, but definitely worth it- don’t settle for the viewpoint down below.
The KVLY-TV tower, just north of Fargo, North Dakota, is the tallest completed structure in the world, and the tallest structure in North America, at 2,063 ft.
However, you can’t drive within a mile or two of the structure, and it does not look very impressive across a giant field.
Fargo has a fantastic walk of fame, with many recognizable names. Here, Barney the Dinosaur.

(Enough hands and feet in cement! You get the idea- if you visit Fargo, this probably is the one big thing to see.)
