My best travel mate, Megan (or Megfactor as I call her) and I decided to plan an epic four week European adventure upon graduating college. We envisioned Europe with warm weather and perfect outdoor conditions for us to galavant through the 17 cities that were on our awesome itinerary. However, two weeks into our trip, we quickly learned the weather was not on our side. We experienced pouring rain, freezing temperatures, and even hail while we were atop the Eiffel Tour! Since we packed few warm clothes, we were forced to wear the same “warm” outfits we packed over and over. Needless to say, these outfits got pretty dirty! Halfway through the trip once our white shirts turned grey and our jeans could stand up on their own, we decided to take matters into our own hands. We filled up a bathtub and threw in our “dank” looking clothes. We soon realized we would not have enough soap to get the dirty job done. We decided to “rinse” off our clothes and hope for the best. The drying process took way longer than anticipated, and we were forced to take our damp, smelly pile that was our unrecognizable clothes along with us when we left for our next journey. Our DIY laundry attempt failed miserably and our laundry just appeared dirtier and smellier than before (our pictures can verify this fact!). Despite the cold temperatures wearing the same ensemble in every country, we had the trip of a lifetime. We met new friends, experienced new cultures, and lived our European motto, “Joie de Vivre!” Now we’re craving another globe-trotting adventure, but this time we would love to go “down under” to have heaps of fun in Australia (we promise to pack accordingly)!
