“RUN! RUN! STOP THE BUS! Get out of the taxi and stop the bus!” Megan screamed at me as she shoved me out of the taxi. I stumbled out, arms full of luggage and souvenirs, and sprinted to the bus. See, Megan and I are two explorers who don’t always think things entirely through. We traveled to Europe, excited, and what we thought prepared. We struggled from the start, learning how to use public transportation (apparently you don’t have to buy a new ticket every time you change trams!), finding lost luggage (two days later it came), and of course, figuring out the scheduling transportation systems. We started our journey in Prague, staying mainly in the capital city, but taking occasional daytrips to various locations around the Czech Republic. From there, we have traveled many places including Munich, Germany; Vienna, Austria; and Venice, Italy. We have met many wonderful people and taken plenty of pictures along the way. A few of our favorite moments include attending the ever so popular Oktoberfest, walking through the Christmas fairs in both Vienna and Prague, and getting attacked by pigeons at San Marco Square in Venice. Our travels though have not all been fun and games. While in Prague, Megan was unfortunate enough to be pick-pocketed on the metro. In Munich, we got separated for over 10 hours from each other, but luckily met up before our next destination. And as we left Vienna, we did make our bus, but it was too close for comfort. We have grown from all of these memorable experiences and have learned a lot about other cultures and ways of life. Since Europe, we have wanted to expand our horizons and see the rest of the world. Next stop… Australia?!?!?!
