My sister and I weren’t always the greatest of friends, in fact we rarely did anything but say hello as we passed through the hallways to our bed rooms. Travel changed all that. I had the opportunity to travel to Australia about a year and a half ago so I took it, being my first trip outside the US. After hearing how much fun it was and seeing how I was bitten by the travel bug my sister decided she too wanted to travel so she planned a trip to Scotland for New Year’s unfortunately her friends cancelled on her so seeing what a great job she had done planning the trip (and secretly it looked like it was going to be a lot of fun and I didn’t want to pass up the chance to travel), I agreed to go with her. I am so glad I did, this was an amazing bonding experience for both of us and we have many wonderful memories and stories to tell. Like the one about how we had just arrived to our Hostel in London after a long flight, checked in and headed to bed waking up around 10 and getting ready (shower and all) for a day of slight seeing. We thought it was strange that it was so dark out (we assumed it was just weird London weather) not realizing it was really 10 at night not in the morning like we had expected (and rather hoped because it sure took us some time adjusting our internal clocks)! We had another opportunity to travel together again this past summer to Prague in a Photography class and as usual we had a wonderful time with great memories and photos we will always share. I especially love the photo of the John Lennon wall that I took saying “Coexist” that my sister had tattooed on her arm while in Prague. I would love the opportunity to show her all the wonderful sights and people of Australia and can’t wait to share more wonderful memories and photos and hopefully some video (our video trip of Scotland mysteriously disappeared which was really upsetting since we would both love to be in the film industry, her a director, me an editor). Here is hoping this will give us another opportunity to travel, bond, and make an amazing video of our experience together that we will share for a lifetime!
