This was taken at a “typical” Costa Rican rodeo in the Guanacaste region. It was much different than how I pictured an American rodeo to be- there were no cowboys, no boots and cowboy hats, and no doctors or safety precautions. The Costa Rican rodeo consists of drunken Ticos (native Costa Ricans) jumping down from the wooden fence into the ring, throwing beer cans at the bull to make it angry, and then running away from it.
