At Wat Pho in Bangkok, you can throw small metal disks one at a time into 108 metal bowls in hopes of good fortune. The number of bowls matches the number of religious scenes depicted on the nearby Reclining Buddha’s soles. The light clanking sound of the coins fills the temple as those hoping for their chance at luck stream by. For this photo, I walked to the marble entry stair to take advantage of the afternoon light, and then went to make my 108 wishes.
