In this picture I am with my best friend, the perfect travel mate, my little sister. We have been on many crazy adventures together and we hope to have some in Australia too! On this adventure in the picture, we are in Turkey on a “magic carpet ride” in one of the Turkish markets. On this particular trip while we were walking the streets of the market we stopped at a store that sold shirts that my sister loved, but she didn’t have enough money for the shirt. The man working said if she gave him a kiss on the cheek she could have the shirt for free. We thought this was a good deal so we gave the man a quick peck, grabbed the shirt, and ran. But news in a Turkish market travels fast! Every store we stopped at after that the men working were shoving jewelry, clothes, scarves, and purses in our faces. “Free for the American girls if you give us a kiss!” We learned very quickly that too much of a good thing can be a bad thing! However, we both decided if we ever become completely broke from spending all of our money on traveling the globe, we could always return to Turkey where a polite kiss on the check is worth a lot of money!
