Although I’ve never traveled abroad with my friend, we always enjoy experiencing new things together. He has seen parts of the world that I havn’t like, Malawi and Turkey, and I have seen parts of the world he hasn’t like China and Japan. We have already shared the different stories from our experiences, but we’d really like to share an actual journey together. When we hang out we always manage to make the best of every situation. For example once we went to go meet a friend in downtown Minneapolis late at night, and we took the train that night. We were going to stop by the Picasso exhibit at the Walker, visit our friend at Gamestop, and then go home on the return train home. When we get to Picasso exhibit, they had decided that they weren’t going to let any more people in to see it that night because there were too many people. So we couldn’t go in. So we went to go meet up with our friend and the rest of the group, but they had decided to go to the bars, and even though Senay was of age, I wasn’t, so we couldn’t hang out with them. Finally, we decided we’d walk around a little bit. We had such a great time just taking in the city in a non-materialistic way, that the time just flew by. We went back to the train station, and there we realized that even though our tickets should last for two hours, two hours from the time we bought them meant that the last train left only an hour into the time we had bought the ticket for. So basically the last train home had left an hour ago. Instead of panicking we laughed at all of our bad luck that day. So we pooled the little cash we had and started walking home until we could afford a cab. It goes to show, that sometimes when you’re with your best friend the worst luck in the world can’t even bring you down. Traveling abroad often creates tough situations and being with a good friend makes everything work out in the end.
