My best travel mate is my husband, Levi. We are travel mates for life. I know you are probably not looking for a married couple, but we are young and even younger at heart. I am 24 and Levi is 22. We have been backpacking through Europe twice, and we have traveled to various places to snowboard. Our next big adventure we plan to go on is Australia and New Zealand. However, it will take a little bit to save up for it. So when I saw this contest, it was a sign. Levi and I started traveling 4 years ago and it has changed our lives, especially mine. I suffer from depression and travel has become my cure without having to take any medication. It has opened my eyes. Levi and I have had so many wonderful experiences while traveling. It has really made our marriage strong. We are so lucky to have found each other. Too many people think that if you get married, that means you have to settle down. But we have proved them wrong. We share the same dreams and interests. Our goal in life is to see as much of the world as possible before we die. Our last backpacking trip in Europe we went on, we tried to do something specific to each culture. It was a lot of fun. We went singing and dancing to traditional Irish music in the pubs of Ireland, and watched a soccer match while drinking Guiness, of course. We attended a bull fight in Spain and cheered on the Matadors. We drank wine in a gondola ride through the canals of Venice, Italy (I asked him to sing to us, but he didn’t). We attended Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Amazing! We drank tea in the park in London, England. We took a boat through the awesome, beautiful fjords in Norway. There were so many awesome things, but i will go over my 400 word limit if I mention them all. Good Times!
We always find ourselves encouraging complete strangers to get out there and see the world. Just talking about traveling makes us happy. We are learning how to teach English at the moment, so that we can make a career out of seeing the world.
