Val and I have the best time together when we go on trips. The last trip we went on together was to North Carolina and it was a spur of the moment thing. We basically decided the day before to drive all the way down there. When we got down there we didn’t know what kind of things we might do. We ended up learning to drive a backhoe next to tobacco fields, learning to drive a moped and a stick-shift dump truck, going to a water park (where we got beaten up by two slides called The Twisted Sisters), and getting the best photo of the trip of a Smokey the Bear sign. It told us our fire danger that day was LOW! All in all, for a 3 day last minute trip it was awesome! It’s those types of trips that are great because you never know what might happen next.
I love traveling with her because she’s hilarious! She knows how to make a 6 to 8 hour car trip entertaining. For example, I have video clips of her dancing to songs from Grease while driving the car. There are also those random moments when we decide to stop the car and take a random photo of us and whatever we are around. We get along well because we both love living in the moment and living life to the fullest.
Val and I are at a great point in our lives. It’s that point where taking random trips, like the one to North Carolina, are possible. We are young enough to enjoy it and young enough to make the best of every trip. I think everyone in their early 20’s deserves a trip that they will remember for the rest of their lives and that they will tell their children when they grow up and get to be this age. Australia is a dream of ours that we both want to see and experience. It would be that once in a lifetime trip that we would tell everyone about.
