Michelle and I are better travel companions than most honeymooners. This is because we are twin sisters, not lovers. In our travels together, we have done many things such as climb up Half- Dome in Yosemite, cheered in the streets of Paris during the World Cup of Soccer and volunteered with children in Mexico. Michelle is my perfect travel buddy for several reasons. Most importantly, she has the same view on travel as I do; we don’t go to places just to get a stamp in our passport, but to return home with a grander view of the world. Michelle and I are both friendly and outgoing people, which is necessary since we get asked, “are you twins” a lot. Ever since we started traveling we made an effort to always make friends and, to date, we have never left a country without a handful of pen pals. Also, we are a perfect balance for each other, because I am responsible while Michelle spontaneous. My responsible tendencies will prevent us from losing track of our hotel, while Michelle insures we get lost enough to encounter an adventure. This happened one time in the Netherlands. I was trying to navigate back to our hotel, while Michelle decided that she would be more helpful by getting us lunch. Not only did she come back with lunch, but with a couple of friends. Although we did not get any closer to our hotel, our new friends invited us to a birthday party a local bar that was worth being lost for. Since college has been very financially demanding, it has been several years since we have had the opportunity to travel abroad. However our love for travel has only grown with local mini-trips and weekend adventures.
