AUSTRALIA!
My friend and I met on an intensive hike up a mountain on the first day of school. Now that I look back that day stands as a metaphor for our friendship. We have overcame many obstacles together that life and school has brought our way. However, our friendship has only grown.
We both are strong students and athletes, who yearn to experience new things outside of our school and community.
Why Australia? Who wouldn’t want to experience a MEGAdiverse country with beautiful and unique animals, gorgeous landscapes and one of a kind culture. For both of us Australia also holds a personal connection.
My family is dispersed on three different continents, one of which is the smallest continent of the world…Australia! I would love to finally meet 1/3 of my family members; my grandmothers brother, my mothers cousins, my cousins…so much family that I might never meet. But that is not the only reason why I’m drawn to Australia. Since I was little, I have been obsessed with Australian animals, and it would be amazing if I could finally see them close up and personal.
My friend is also passionate about the atmosphere and culture of Australia and has been planning to travel there for as long as I have been friends with her. She has even thought about studying there abroad.
Having the opportunity to visit Australia knowingly will be a life changing experience, and traveling together with my friend will make it a journey shared between two people that will make the most out of it.
