Laurel and I have been friends for the 18 years of our existence and have traveled all over the United States together. Almost every camping trip and every river trip we are always together. We have been to Moab, St. George, Bryce National Park, Zions National Park, Salmon River, Green River, and the Gates of Ladore. I love traveling with her because we have so much in common and connect so well together. We are two peas in a pod and it makes the trip so enjoyable when she comes along. The first time we went down the Salmon River we were in a little rubber duckie together and we came upon the first rapid of the entire trip and it wasn’t anything big, probably not even a class one rapid, but somehow we ended up flipping the little duckie that we were in. However right before we left the park ranger told us what we should do when we flip, grab onto the boat then grab our paddles and then swim to shore. Well when Laurel and I flipped we were laughing and then remembered what were suppose to do except we decided to float the rest of the rapid before trying to swim to shore. We made it to shore no scrapes or bruises just two girls laughing so hard our stomachs hurt and we almost got left behind!! On a lazy part of the Salmon river on this same trip, Laurel and I decided to start singing in our little rubber duckie and since we didn’t have our ipods or any sort of electornic device to listen to the songs we didn’t know all the words. We especially had a hard time with the song Remember the Name by Fort Minor. We couldn’t remember how the song went but when we got it we sang at the top of our lungs and the best part the only ones that could here us was everyone else in our party and all they did was laugh and attempt at shooting us with water guns. Laurel is a special girl and I would love to travel to Australia with her because I believe she hasn’t ever even traveled outside of the United States and to spend a vacation with her down under would be the best vacation ever!!!!!
