Alicia and I have been on a few trips together. The one that was the most fun, but also the worst driving experience ever was a trip we took recently to London, Ontario from East Lansing, MI. We head to Ontario in October, which is still construction season in Michigan and we manage to avoid the first major construction area in Flint, MI because I am originally from that area and knew ways around it. However, once we get closer to Port Huron, the expressway is completely shut down and we have to take a detour, which is fine. We get off the expressway and begin following the detour and about 30 minutes later and 3/4 of the way through the detour there is no more directions on how to keep following the detour. So, we attempt to continue to follow what we think is the detour. We start to get to an area with more population and think we must be getting close. We pass by one road and she says, I think we were supposed to turn back there, so I begin to look for a way to turn around, there is none. We end up back onto the expressway going the opposite direction that we want to go, so we decide hey this is cool, we will just get off at the next exit. The next exit happens to be the same exit that we had to get off at in the first place, so we had to again follow the detour that has no directions at the end. Another 30 minutes later we eventually find where we are supposed to go and the rest of the trip goes smoothly until we arrive. During the trip we got lost no more than 8 times trying to find the streets we were looking for. It is the absolutly the most I have ever gotten lost, but overall the trip was lots of fun. The return trip was much less interesting and passed without a hitch.
