Definitley spend a weekend in Brugge, Belgium – it’s not too far by train to Amsterdam (you can stop in Brussels on the way, too) and it’s one of the most beautiful cities in western Europe: cobblestone streets, small city squares, canals and the CHOCOLATE. Yum. It’s a must-see!
Hi Wonderwoman! What a fantastic opportunity to complete your student teaching requirement in another country. That is so cool! The Netherlands is a great place to live and is small and close enough that you can visit some of the surrounding countries with ease. When I was in Holland I absolutely fell in love with the town of Maastricht. It’s right on the Belgian border and is 30 minutes from the German border. It is a great little town and is known for its art. As the temperature rises in the spring I would definitely make a visit there. That being said it is very easy to get to Belgium, Germany, and Luxemborg from Holland. Even if you just hop over the border those are some more countries you can put under your belt. The best part about heading to Brussels, Belgium is that if you care to you can just hop on the Eurostar Chunnel and within 3 hours you’re in the heart of London! So go out , explore, and make the most of your time there!
