Traffic sure is a killer...:)

Welcome to a brand new world. "Wow" is all I can think. I've never seen anything like this place. Walking off of the airplane, I've decided upon two things. One is that no country should be this hot and sticky at 10pm, and the other is that if I ever want to commit suicide that I will come back to India and try to get a drivers license.

Driving from the airport to the hotel was like being in Grand Theft Auto, but more dangerous. I feel like driving blindfolded on the Autobahn would be a much safer choice than attempting to drive AT ALL in Delhi. I feel worlds away from everything I know. Lines and intersections in the road are mere suggestions, and the idea to get as close as possible to the other traffic, and then try and weave and scootch in front of them while not taking off the side of their overcrowded cars and rickshaws. It really is the only way to get anywhere in this crazy city. While using your horn liberally. And when I say liberally I actually mean constantly. And I do mean constantly. Constantly.

After being here for nearly 3 weeks, the automotive insanity is almost second nature. Cow in the road? Swerve around it! Someone pushing a cart down the "expressway"? Well, just honk your horn. A lot. No pavement? No problem!
