I would like to pick the brain of a very travel savey of Australia. You don't need to have written the entire Looney Planet Australia, only know your way around the billabongs that harbored the largest and meanest 'ole Saltys.' Need suggestions on haunts where a single guy can meet well traveled world backpackers. Places in Queensland that must be seen. I am not interested in Alice Springs, any supid foreigner will go there. I need to know where the real Aussie locals (locos) emerge when the sun goes down. Pls help. I will be there all too soon. I may have to discover it all for myself. Any sheilas out there that know of great beaches where I can spot Wicked Weasels? I'm waiting to hear back. G
