I have never seen a street so packed with everything you could possibly want, pubs, restaurants, shopping, dancing...its like a girls dream. My friend Cat and I stayed at the Novotel Hotel in Montreal and it was literally less than a block from St. Catherine Street on a connecting avenue. It was the prime location, we could head out as far as we wanted to go down St. Catherine street working our way back toward the hotel. It also was safer that way when we went out at night the further out we started and the more drinks you drink the closer you get to the hotel the better. We tried out 123 a club right down the street from the hotel, it was a great little techno club we got in for free with a group of birthday kids about our age and drinks were average priced.
If you are still in Montreal there are two things you MUST do:
1) get crepes in Old Montreal (if you are unsure of the location just ask some friendly locals… if you don’t mind walking 10-15 minutes you can take metro to Champs-de-Mars or Place-d’Armes)
There is a place near the corner of Rue St. Jean Baptiste and St. Paul Est. BEST crepe suzettes!
2) Take the bus up to the top of Mont Royal Parc at dusk. wrap yourself up because it will be freezing this time of year. The view of the city lights from the top is unreal.
enjoy your trip!
