Gdayyy Mate
If you have ever been to Australia, hopefully you have had the luck to, you know it pretty much kicks ever other countries ass. Well...I have just realized after six long years of being away, I need to go back! I do not care that I have no money for the tickets...or that I would probably never want to come back if I went. I just need to go back. It is amazing there. The sunsets, the sunrises, the surf and the surfers. You cannot forget the surfers. Am I right ladies? Australia evokes the kind of emotion from me that a 7 year old has on Christmas morning. Take Christmas...I want Australia. I learned how to surf in Oz. From some shady bogans in torn up wet suits who brought me out to the worse kind of surf that crashed on the beach so violently that my borrowed wetsuit, was more like a mesh suit when I finally pulled myself from the waves. Oh...and the Tim Tams, my goodness. If you have never tried or heard of a Tim Tam, DO NOT try one. They are too good. The vegiemite on the other hand is one of the grosser things I have put in my mouth, I miss the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Mackas and th Taronga zoo. I miss my host family, the Dodds. They were the greatest family and treated me like I was truly one of them. I also really miss the subway and bus stations. I think the operators took pity on me because I was an awkwardly tall American who didn't get the memo that in Australia its hot in December...not June. I ended up wearing a variety of hand me downs from Mr. Dodd and some fellow North Americans. In simple terms...I looked a hott mess. Well, I truly miss Australia and hope to go back there soon. I am determined and it will happen. Adios and Ciao bella!
Australia gets very old very quicky. Of all the countries ive been to it has the least suprises about it. And every bar on the east coast seemed to be full of local surf guys trying to pick up travelling girls, worst thing is, it seem to work for them. The west is bar far better than the east coast which is tacky as hell and even when i was 24 i felt to old to be there.
