I took a weekend get-a-way to Palm Springs. I got a DING fare form Southwest airlines and flew into Ontario where I had a friend pick me up. i stayed with my friends in Indio, CA which is right near Palm Springs. It was a lot of fun to enjoy the upper 70's temperatures and the sunny skies that helped my tan along. While we were there we would BBQ for dinner because this time of year is the best outside weather conditions in the California desert. The fair was also going on while we were there. We went one night to enjoy Blue's Traveler, a band from the 90's that had some pretty great one hit wonder songs. My best friend has a little girl who is 3, and she is about as cute as they come. She was at the front of the stage on Daddy's shoulders and had one of the popular hits dedicated to her AND the band gave her one of their harmonicas, haha, it was cute. The fair had a lot of fun rides and of course great food. But most of all it was just a beautiful night with clear skies, palm trees, and carnival lights...in the middle of February that sounds pretty great when you have been stuck in the Utah cold! We also had the chance to take advantage of the amazing outlet mall at the huge casino. The outlets there are really great. Before I left town I was able to head down to Laguna Beach and enjoy some amazing Mexican cuisine while smelling the ocean breeze. It was an awesome weekend!
