What a relief that the decision for the STA World Traveler Intern 2008 is now out of my hands. Never a troubling experience, the road to the fruition of my application was quite the trip.
Though my original movie was unfortunately taken from this world before its time (The hard drive failed completely- RIP my dearest MacBook), I was able to conjure up a new video application just in time. In lieu of the week long production of my first video, I shot and edited my second video in a day's time! Even though I'm not happy I was forced to produce such an important part of my potential, life-changing summer experience, I can say I'm thoroughly happy with the outcome.
And in regards to other applicants- all I have to say is kudos to you all. Some videos I have watched are borderline Spielberg productions. A lot of creativity and technical ability exists within the STA community and I can honestly say if in the unfortunate event I am not granted the amazing opportunity to be the STA World Traveler Intern 2008, I was in good company and the winner is most deserving.
So good luck to everyone in this awesome student community! I hope that everyone who has applied for this incredible opportunity will fulfill their desire to teach and reach the world around us- even if the Internship is given to someone else.
And for those of us who might be shortlisted come march 7th- Stay Calm, Remain composed and Be yourself!
As the adage goes- "Be steady my beating heart"!
Very true! My macbook crashed during the making of my video too- Oh the drama! Your video is very cool. Lol to the rock climbing. But I think it looks more believable than Tom Cruise’s opening scene in Mission Impossible II. :) Good luck to you!
