I'm going to visit a friend I met last year while he was on a Rotary Student Exchange from Brazil in my town. I'm so excited! He lives near Sao Paulo. I'm going from July 7th-27th. We shall sightsee a lot... I've never been farther south than Arizona or California. I have to get a yellow fever vaccination, thypid and ... maybe malaria? I don't have the best immune system, so it makes me a little nervous. But why avoid travel in fear of something as silly as a disease (ha..) and pass the chance of self-growth and a once and a lifetime opportunity? The way I look at it is this- even if I get really sick, how many people can brag that they've seen so much of the world? That's what I call living. So cudos to all my fellow travelers on this website! I'll post pictures when I return in a few months.
