The Night Before

Ok so maybe this isn't the night before. It's more like 4 hours before i roll through security at SeaTac International Airport, and I'm so overwhelmed with excitement about my trip that i can't catch a break.

My heart is palpitating with anticipation. Praying diligently that my luggage makes it all the way to London in one piece as well as myself. My mind is racing through all the lists I've made in the past year since I've been planning this trip. Do I have all my confirmation numbers? Are all my flights really booked? Do I have all my ferries? [I actually do know the answer for that one, and no I do not have all my ferries planned or booked. In fact, i have no idea how I'm getting from Venice to Athens, Athens to Santorini, and Santorini to Rome. Ok well maybe I'm flying to Rome. Boating to Santorini. I guess that takes care of two of them....] Do I have everything I need packed? Is my passport accessible? How about my ID's? Are those ready to whip out to security? Do I have enough batteries for my camera? Is my iPod charged?!

You can see it now, right? My mind dashing through a years worth of hard work and meticulous planning? A lot of people don't know it. In fact, I don't think I've told anybody yet. But part of the reason i did so poorly this year in school, was because my mind has been bolting through a slew of travel books on my many destinations. Page by page. Dog eared corners here, highlighting passages there. Even tearing out a few passages only to copy them down, and tack it to my wall for future quick references.

[I need to get a lock for my bag while so it can safely stay in a locker while I'm busy exploring the world.]

It's now 3 hours and 45 minutes. Where did 387 days go? Seriously. That's When i started planning this trip. I couldn't even buy airfare for this trip when it was past the beginning stages. I think the best part is, when i bought my ticket a month or so ago, it was the lowest price i could find. anywhere. And since then, I found tickets up to $500 cheaper than what i've payed. But you know what? I bought my ticket for $500 more. That's What. So that extra $500 i paid better bring me some 'tasty' airline food. ;)

I hope I make new friends. I hope I stay safe. I hope my luggage stays with me the entire trip. I hope more than anything that memories from this adventure will last for a long, long time.

Maybe now that I've shared my pre-travel thoughts, I will be able to lull myself into a peaceful nap for about 2 and a half hours.

3 hours 30 minutes.

The sad thing is that the trip is over before you know it. I hope you are having a good time!
