For those who love roller coasters, cedar point is the place to be. With over 70 rides, including 17 roller coasters, the thrill is never ending. Every theme park that I visit i ask people if they have ever been to cedar point, and I have only met one couple who has. This lack of knowlege about the park is one of the great things about it. Most of the visitors are returnees who know where and what they want to do. Which allows the crowds and lines to move quickly, even in the busy summer months.
If you can get a chance I would recommend visiting at the beginning or end of the summer, when the weather is cool and most schools are still in session. Another great time to visit is over halloween weekend. Each year they transform the park in one giant haunted house, complete with crashed roller coasters and masked haunters.
If you do go on a crowded day be ready to wait up to three hours for the good rides (the mavrick, dragster and the mellinium force) but if you get there early and hit the big coasters first you can make it trhough other lines in and hour or less.
Here are the top ten rides that i would not miss when going to the park,
10) sky hawk
9) power tower
8) Max air
7) raptor
6) Mean streak
5) magnum
4) wicked twister
3) dragster (420 ft, 120 mph, 90 degree drop ... need i say more?)
2) mavric (I haven't yet rode this, but I have heard it is amazing)
1) mellinium force
Cedar point is located in Sandusky Ohio, I recommend taking the toll road and ignoring the signs that say "cedar point that way," I always go in though town, but pay close attention on your way in, because it is easy to get lost on your way out.
