We were hoping to take as much time off as possible for our Around The World trip in Dec/Jan. I will be student teaching, but I have a 5 week break between semesters. I spoke to my adviser, and was given permission to start second semester a week late. 6 weeks for our trip! Sounds too good to be true...

...considering that Matt may have problems getting 5 weeks leave, let alone 6. He'll only have 3.5 weeks by the time we leave. He has asked about being able to work remotely for a day or two, and about trying to do extra hours before we leave. Unfortunately, he can't work more than 40 hours a week without being paid overtime. So it looks like he might be getting leave without pay.

Hopefully we'll find out later today.
