Hey everyone!

Jenny and I are back in the US now after a series of very unfortunate events.
On our way to Brazil (through a series of layovers) we got held up in Atlanta. As it turned out, Delta Airlines overbooked our plane from Atlanta to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by 22 people. Needless to say it was a pretty frantic scene at the gate. We were extremely disapointed to learn that we would be kept off that flight. They wanted to rebook us for the next day, but for numerous reasons we decided just to fly back to Wisconsin instead of waste a day in Atlanta. So we arrived back in Wisconsin on the 30th of July but not before our bags were sent to Brazil on the flight we were meant to be on. Thankfully, our bags made their way back and now we are in recovery mode. I have written a letter to the president of Delta and the customer relations representative so they know exactly what happened. We are sorry that we couldn't have sent out one more update from Brazil. I have been wearing my Brazil soccer jersey a lot lately. Hopefully we will be able to go back someday.

Once more, we want to thank everyone who had a part in winning this trip for us. It was a once in a lifetime experience and it all happened because of our great family and friends who voted for us daily. We have you all to thank, please pass that along to anyone else you know of that helped.

Also, we would like to thank STA Travel, not only for providing us with this opportunity, but for working with us closely to make it such an enjoyable trip. STA Travel really knows how to plan these sorts of trips and I certainly reccomend them to anyone looking to do some traveling (and NO, they didnt tell me to say that).
