Hey Everybody - one of my passengers is recently back from Costa Rica and has reports on where to chill out in a small beach town. SAMARA on the Nicoya Penninsula - yo, check your map. Thanks Erin! For your notes!
"Samara is the more accessible beach town in that area, because there's a paved
road (plenty of potholes) all the way. it draws more of a local Costa Rican family-type
vacationer on the weekends. The surf is tiny, thus perfect for 1st-time
learners. The sand isn't very white. There is a school there called
'Intercultura' that brings in groups of college students, usually on a study
abroad type of thing, so there's a young, fun party scene there with most of the
bars concentrated in a small area, but nothing too crazy.
There are frequent buses from Nicoya & San Jose, so it's easy to get there & the
town is very accessible by foot."
