what your doing sounds really good, im going to be working with underprivaledged kids in orphanages, i will be there from 29 Jan til june also, possibly going on to argentina but im not making solid plans in case i change my mind, total coincidence that i saw your message bout huancayo. yes it is nice to know someone who will be there when i will be, as i am a little nervous, lol bt im sure it will fine. Hopefully we cn keep in touch and maybe ill see in huancayo. x

hey, i jus read your post about peru in feb 08, im am leaving for huancayo, peru, in just 7 days. i am volunteering with an organisation called mikikita quykaway, did you decide where you were going?

I saw your post on the Global Volunteers group page about volunteering in Peru. I too am planning on volunteering in Peru this summer, then travelling 'round South America for awhile, and have found a really amazing group of people in Arequipa, Peru. Their website can be found my googling Traveller not Tourist. All you pay for is accomodation and spanish lessons (if you so choose). I've heard it is a good, safe, friendly organization to go through, and have e-mailed with Jay and Luis, who seem quite lovely. I hope that maybe this has helped a little, or at least has given you another option. Good luck with finding an organization, it can be such a hassle!
