When I visit Iceland, I know now that I don't need to pay $8 for every bottle of water because it's the same stuff that comes out of the cold tap!
I like to be sure that I have my accommodations booked in advance. I hate spending 1/2 my time trying to find a place to stay.

When I visit...a place I try to take in specfic smells and images. Try and take a notebook and jot done your favorite scenes plus take sum pics to go wit
Take alot of pictures but don't allow your want to capture everything on film disrupt your experience. Be in the moment and enjoy it.
Make a scrapbook and keep an online blog of your travels. It's so awesome to look back on your adventures and know exactly how you felt at the moment, through the ups and the downs.
Every now and then travel outside of the beaten path.
When I visit...make the extra effort to meet the locals, in the end people are people.
Don't be intimidated by what you don't know... ask as many questions as possible... people will more often than not appreciate your curiosity!
