Taking in the scenery can be more important than taking pictures. You don't want to miss something that is actually happening. 12 pictures of the same site will get you nowhere.

When staying in Hostels make sure you know the curfew! or else you may be locked out and have to wake up the owner....eek!
Speak the Local Language, or try too atleast! The people love hearing a foreigner speak it and it shows your interest in their language/culture.

Don't forget your favorite shoes in Cairo!!
Learn how to say "Please" "Thanks" and "No, thank you"...you'll earn yourself a lot of respect with just those few easytolearn phrases!
