Travel Tips
- When I visit... don't forget to pack clean underwear!
- Get together with locals - they will show you places you wouldn't even think of!
- Pack light!
- When I visit...Italy, Do not make a mess from eating bread on the train!!!
When I visit...S Korea, Do not sit in the seat reserved for Koreans on the bus!!!
- When I visit...I always make it a point to get lost at least once. That way you have the opportuniity to actually become familiar with the area, people and culture. You usually discover things off the beaten path that you would never have found.
- The world is not all sunshine and rainbows, and travellers that think that usually come unstuck!
- Dont take s**t from taxi drivers, thats an international rule!
Common sense and logic is scarce.
- If you are in a city and that city happens to have a subway or whatever. Get a pass and just ride the subway getting off at random points, you get to see so much of the city and explore.
- When you go to the South Island in New Zealand definately make a stop at Milford Sound. The scenery is amazing and if you do the overnight boat trip they take you out of the sound and into the ocean to see the sunrise. An amazing spectacle!
- do your homework: when visiting a new country, do your best to familiarize yourself with the culture and language as best you can. a little bit goes a long way :)
