I suggest you come to China. You won't regret it, i assure you. I am now based in Shanghai myself and enjoy traveling around China, teaching English as a second language to students of all levels (language and cultural exchanges) name it, its so exciting. To start with, this summer, a full range of events will be available for teachers and students who wish to experience and develop Chinese cultural communication. Along with the educational component, you will enjoy beautiful areas of our country including Tianjin, Shandong, Shanxi province, Shaanxi province, Liaoning Province, Hebei province and more. In this 2 week event, we will provide fantastic opportunities for foreign students to be immersed in pure and exotic Chinese environment with different Chinese people including students and teachers. You can have the best chance to communicate and interact with local Chinese people and freely visit various local Chinese cultures, folks, scenic spots from city to city, and of course, learning Chinese language. If you are interested and would wish to take part in this interesting cultural exchange program, contact me as soon as possible at the following email address: jobs@teachersemployment.org

Hey Claire, I responded to your question in the boards. If you wanna travel for fun before college starts, I would totally do a tour- completely hassle free and you can still do things that you want to do. And you might be able to convince a few friends to join you too as a graduation present. I intern for Contiki and I can totally help you with any questions you might have! They have over 100 different tours ranging from places and lengths to chose from. Let me know if you have any questions!
